Problems with USB External HardDrive

Hey, I am currently trying to run an external hard drive that is connected via USB. The thing is that it was working before I upgraded my kernel and also tryed to add autofs to my system so that things would be automounted. Things worked well with autofs until I rebooted, so I think it has to do with the kernel upgrade. It seems that the usb drive is now running constantly with the busy light on it and the dmesg is giving me weird messages now :
sd 4:0:0:0: [sdc] ASC=0x0 ASCQ=0x0
sd 4:0:0:0: [sdc] Sense Key : 0x0 [current]

It constantly repeats it in dmesg and the only other topic that I can happened with the newest kernel 2.6.27 also. It discuesses about the nokia phone though.

Thanks for any help,
Ratty
