Hi, I've recently installed Arch Linux with SLiM and XFCE4. However, I'm having problems with xfce4-mixer. It's installed, but the applet doesn't in the "Add Items to the Panel" list. Why would this be?

I just upgraded xfce to version 4.4.3 today, and the mixer dissapeared from my panel too. I had completely forgotten about it. I'll look into it a bit.

I believe you can add Xfce4-Mixer by first creating a Launcher on the panel, then adding "xfce4-mixer" as the command. From what I see the only difference is you can't adjust the volume directly on the icon, you have to open the Volume Control window.

Got it. Change the last line of /usr/share/xfce4/panel-plugins/xfce4-mixer.desktop to :
X-XFCE-Exec=/usr/lib/xfce4/xfce4/panel-plugins/xfce4-mixer-plugin
I'll file a bug report.

Thanks a lot!
I have searched the web for nearly 2 hours until I found this simple fix

Didn't work for me... The mixer applet still doesn't show on the panel, not in the "Add Items to the Panel" list

Have you tried installing the fixed version (xfce4-mixer 4.4.3-2) ?
