In new gvim 7.2.25-1 I have invisible cursor in vertical split view. This happen only for gvim, vim is fine. Tried without my configuration (gvim -u NONE -U NONE), same thing.

My gvim is fine. Did you also tried to change your colors?
I'm using oceanblack and don't have problems with the cursor in the splited windows.

Yes I did. This happens only in vertical split, horizontal split is fine.

doing any ! command eg ':!ls' or <Ctrl-Z> restores cursor when you came back to gvim

Sorry. I have the same problem when using vertical layout.
Probably we should notify this upstream because it's a distro independent bug.

you are right
But it is hard to describe conditions precisely.
I know that doesn't happen every time when I do vertical split
I know that occurs on Gvim 7.2.2 fc5, kde (don't remember version)
Gvim 7.2.26 Ubuntu 8.1 kde 4.1.2
But now I am running (for 1,5 days)
Gvim 7.2.26 Ubuntu 8.1 xfce 4.4.2 (plasmoid in kde was annoying me) and bug still doesn't occurs.
So, is it connected with kde or I was just lucky?

I'm using openbox, tried also on awesome and it's the same. IMHO it probably doesn't depend on the window manager.
By the way I noticed that if I maximize or minimize the window the cursor appears again. So this can be a quirk to use while we are waiting for a fix.
I have mapped ToggleMaximizeFull on Win-A in my configuration some time ago so it's easy for me to restore the missing cursor.

No problems here running on Gnome. It is kind of weird because on KDE 4.1.3 and fluxbox it happened :S

Well...that's really strange. So my guess was wrong. It depends in some way on the window manager used.
Gvim vsplit bug occurs on:
openbox
awesome
fluxbox
kde 4.1
Gvim vsplit does not occurs on:
Gnome 2.24 guess
xfce xfce 4.4.2
Any other?

Occurs in ratpoison.
When you vsplit in gvim, and then v/split in ratpoison so the gvim window resizes, the cursor will be visible again.
I compiled vim 7.2 from source last week. Don't know which subversion it is. It's from the main site without any patches.
