Hey,
Installed Folding@home, ran the configure, etc. I can't start it, though! If I set FAH_USER="ranguvar" in my /etc/conf.d/foldingathome-smp , that is. If I leave that blank, it works. I'd rather not run the daemon as root if I don't have to, though. I also tried removing the 'forceasm' option, to no avail. Yes, I'm on x86_64. My configure is defaults besides the user change as I said.
The error:
bash: line 1: 10925 Segmentation fault /opt/fah-smp/fah6 -smp -verbosity 9 -forceasm > /opt/fah-smp/ranguvar/myfah.logI made sure to source /etc/profile, as fah installed to /opt, but that didn't fix it. Neither did a *shudder* reboot. The daemon failed to start at boot, same error. The log file mentioned in the error contains no errors whatsoever.
Thanks for any help ![]()
Solved by deleting the main install directory, and then re-installing and NOT following the instructions from the package install, but from the Wiki only.

I'm having the same issue, except following the wiki still segfaults. I see a nasty segfault after running /etc/rc.d/foldingathome-smp start too.
