No Audio Using Gstreamer

Hello all,

My problem is this: any app that uses gstreamer (i.e. Banshee, Rhythmbox, Totem, etc) will not output any audio, even though they will show as playing.  Firefox and apps like VLC or ogg/mpg123 work just fine.

I must note that this is on a fresh install of Arch64 using ALSA, so I'm not sure if there was anything I could/should have done to prevent this.  I reinstalled all the gstreamer apps and plugin group, and cleared out the gstreamer profile in my home directory.  I tried to play a song with gst-launch-0.10 just to make positively sure I couldn't use gstreamer, and it doesn't output audio either.  I've looked at gstreamer-properties (since Gnome 2.26 doesn't seem to have the Sound Preferences anymore) and played around with the default output settings to no avail.

I'm not sure what else I can do with this, so if anyone could give me push in the right direction, that would be fantastic.

You could try the "Device" bar at the top of the volume control (from clicking on the volume adjustment panel applet). I'm not sure if that changes the device used or just which device's settings you're changing, but either might help.

Nope, for me it just seems to change the settings for either the Alsa Mixer or OSS Mixer.  Thanks though.

Re: No Audio Using Gstreamer

I have the same problem.  So far I've tested with wmas and mp3s. This is the output I get when running totem with debug level 2.  Any other commands I can run to better diagnose the problem?

this code keeps getting repeated.
