[SOLVED] dbus upgrade breaks X, PCManFM

Running Arch x86_64, everything up-to-date.

After upgrading dbus and dbus-core from 1.2.4.6permissive-1 to the latest version 1.2.14-1, PCManFM is immediately broken;

PCMan File Manager stopped running unexpectedly
pcmanfm was interrupted by an Abort Signal

(every time I try to open it)

After a reboot, my X server won't start

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

And I know it has nothing to do with an invalid xorg.conf -- even if I remove my xorg.conf (relying on the autodetect, which used to work), it has the same error.

Any ideas? (in the meantime I just downgraded dbus and dbus-core to 1.2.4.6permissive and everything works fine)
I'm thinking maybe something to do with policykit... since those are about the only dbus-related config files I modified from the vanilla stuff. (but it was such a pain in the ass to get them working right in the first place, I really don't want to go screwing around with them again) =/

Re: [SOLVED] dbus upgrade breaks X, PCManFM

Okay I fixed it -- though I'm not sure exactly what the problem was in the first place.

I just re-installed hal, dbus, dbus-core, and policykit (as well as wiping their config files / restoring the default ones)

Re: [SOLVED] dbus upgrade breaks X, PCManFM

I have your same problem, though I kinda got around it somehow. I thought It was with the recent xserver update, because I could not start x. After I disabled hot plugging and installed mouse and keyboard drivers, I was then able to start x. I'm checking to see with re installing everything worked as we speak!

AND wah la!

if you have this problem try this

sudo pacman -S hal dbus dbus-core policykit

It sounds work

Thanks again iza! (if you don't remember you solved my other pcmanfm problem)

edited to fix some spelling mistakes  >_<
