[Solved] Sis mirage3/sis 671

Hello to all I need his help I have a laptop with a graphical card sis 671 the problem is that I cannot choose the maximum resolution that is 1280x800 only I can choose 1024x768 but the worse thing is that the image is very bad meets blurry and full of strange lines. I have tried to edit the xorg of many forms, have installed the package xf86-video-sis have tried to initiate without xorg, but I do not manage anything to make it work fine. Nevertheless in Ubuntu it works perfectly doing this: http://209.85.225.132/translate_c?hl=es … iJ7NdQ26SA I was wondering if there exists some way of extracting the files of the .deb and to use them in arch or if someone knows some solution

Re: [Solved] Sis mirage3/sis 671

I have seen something similar before. Those are really bad and mostly bring only trouble.
The solution to the other case I have seen was to use the vesa driver and add this to xorg.conf

Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Configured Monitor"
Option "DPMS"
HorizSync 28-72
VertRefresh 43-60
EndSection

You will have 2d only with this solution, it seems there is some development with a driver that supports 3d but I have no idea how it is working http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=958967&page=22

Re: [Solved] Sis mirage3/sis 671

I have solved it downloading the driver of this page: http://ncc-1701a.homelinux.net/~linux-s … =Downloads
I have compiled it have installed and everything works to thousand marvels I have the resolution to 1280x800 and can put xv as exit in the videos for if to someone more is interested in it needs to add the following thing in his xorg.conf in order that it should work:

Driver      "sis671"
Option "NoAccel" "0"
Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
Option "DRI" "0"
