Hey guys!
I just upgraded some GStreamer packages today, and after that upgrade, I've been experiencing some issues in Amarok. I can't FF or RW songs, and when I change songs it tooks some secs to start playing...
Anyone here having the same issue?
Thanks!

I can see the code, and change it too
I can make it do things I want it to do
And I think to myself, what a wonderful code

Same issue here too.

I'm having this issue in 6 different computers. It really seems to be some issue with the new GStreamer packages.

Gstreamer + amarok has been problematic for a while now... i'd try switching to xine ouput.

I installed the phonon-xine backend (pacman -S phonon-xine), made sure it was on top on the list of sound engines (System settings > Multimedia), logged out and back in again, and now Amarok is working fine again.

Thanks troncoso, it's working fine now! :)

Just FYI (glad it works for you though) the gstreamer plugins needs to be installed for gstreamer (on the KDE wiki page) and amarok works ok for me. There is still an issue with OGG's though not playing.

Similar issues with JUK. Will recompilation help?

Replace gstreamer to xine works for me too, but somebody gets amarok RW and FW working with gstreamer? Is this a bug?

Yeah I noticed this too, I thought Amarok was broken (it's been "broken" for me since the 2.x series. 1.4 was awesome) but after installing Xine and using that it's finally a good media player again

not for me!
with xine it stops playing flac track few (3-4) seconds early, when the track is the last in playlist. (((
with previous version of gstreamer I didn't had such problem

neat. this fixes my issues
one thing, though. does anyone else have the problem whereby amarok (or anything running through phonon) no longer obeys the PCM mixer, only master volume levels?

Now I compiled the old gstreamer from abs. works perfectly!
