Printing problems

I do not remember the update but I had an update from extra that another file had to be deleted to update this file.  Because of this I can no longer print.  It still see's the printer but any thing I send to it does not print any longer.

Re: Printing problems

Is CUPS running, assuming that is what you use?

A bit more detail would help us give a better answer.

Re: Printing problems

I am sorry as you are right.  I went through the cups troubleshooting procedures yesterday and nothing helped.  I even tried to delete my printer thought http://localhost and the rest of it but it would not let me.  I have a canon printer and it worked great before this update.  I can still do things with the printer in KDE but even that it will not allow a test page to print.  During some of the troubleshooting it would want me to start cups but each time it would fail.  During the startup cups starts with out any issues.

Re: Printing problems

I realized that when I went to delete the printer it failed because I did not sign in as root.

I also found a problem while trying to add my printer.  Even though I did the modprobe usblp when I try and add the printer it seems to only find parellel, scsi, or pdf and not usb.  I guess this must have been the problem of why I was unable to print.  I know that the printer still works though and the system can see it just fine.
