are you using testing?

Same problem here. I even tried to be clever and make a symbolic link to the new file with the name of the old file. Amarok did not care for that at all.

For the record, amarok-git will indeed work. However, it also is telling me that some of my techno has been written by Mozart, so I think my database has been corrupted.

You can revert to the old version of taglib with:
$ sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/taglib-extras-0.1.7-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz
Obviously you can do the above only if you haven't cleaned your pacman cache recently.

This indeed does work. Thanks. I am too lazy to recompile amarok
