So I have an updated Arch installation and everything is working great.
My previous monitor was an Acer 4:3 monitor at 1280x1024 resolution.
I bought a new widescreen monitor that is capable of 1920x1080
I have an Nvidia GeForce 7300 video card and when I plugged in the new monitor, Nvidia detected it and offered me the new resolution.
However, everytime I start the system, it reverts to 1280x1024 resolution. I have modified my xorg.conf and even uninstalled and reinstalled nvidia, to no avail. Can someone please help..?
Here is my xorg.conf

I had a problem like this where my X didnt wanna take my new monitor displays.. what I did was I backed up my conf and ran nvidia-xconfig to make a new .conf, then using sudo nvidia-settings i told it to go to the size i wanted and it just appended the file for me

IAlter your display subsection in xorg.conf to the following:
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1920x1080"
EndSubSection
Offline
Tried both things. Neither seems to work.
:-(
When I restart the computer, its back to 1280x1024 even though xorg.conf shows the Modes line.
