Greetings guys!
i'm running kde4 on my laptop with alsa and xine backend, recently I have bought Logitech Comfort Chat usb headset. after plugging it in, in kde control center, in multimedia, new device appears (smth like usb headset bla bla), i've set in on first place in all categories. So, system notifications, skype, amarok - works good, playing and recording. But I have no sound in online videos, for example, in youtube. after some googling, I've installed asoundconf and set my headset as primary soundcard, but still no sound:
$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xfc200000 irq 22
1 [Headset ]: USB-Audio - Logitech USB Headset
Logitech Logitech USB Headset at usb-0000:00:1d.1-1, full speed
any suggestions?
thanx.
p.s. i have ubuntu 9.10 beta on the same laptop and there sound works in firefox/flash (but there is gnome, and some magically configured pulseaudio server )

Hi. I had problem with sound on youtube and flashvideo, sounds like your problem except it had nothing to do with a headset. For me, the problem had to do with the oss-module being loaded instead of alsa or some such. Solution was to make sure oss-module doesn't load at all. Edit your /etc/rc.conf, find the line that says MODULES= and change it like this:
MODULES=(!snd-pcm-oss)
That worked for me. May not work for you, but give it a try.

as i have figured out: after plugging headset, i've muted laprop sound card, and sound was every where except flash in ff or opera or other browser, when i unmute laptop's sound card in kmix, audio form flash goes to laptop's speakers as nothing happens. I've tried script from http://alsa.opensrc.org/.asoundrc , but still no help
