After KMS update no xv extension

Hi all,

yesterday I updated my arch box and I got the new KMS stuff for my ATI card.

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc M56P [Radeon Mobility X1600]

After I rebooted, the video performance of Xorg seemed really slow.. switching from a Firefox tab to another required almost a second.. that was bad..

So I deleted my xorg.conf file and simply run Xorg without it. This solved the slowness issues but now I'm stuck with:

fabio@gamma torrents]$ xvinfo
X-Video Extension version 2.2
screen #0
 no adaptors present

Result is that mplayer only works with X11 driver. Any idea on how to fix this?

Disable KMS until mesa 7.6 passes to extra. Everything is on the wiki.

Thanks for your reply. Disabling KMS make it everything fine again. I'll wait for mesa 7.6 and try reenable kms. Thanks for your help.

I can confirm that with mesa 7.6 everything is fine again with KMS enabled.
