... or how to get a complete list of AUR packages?
Until three days ago, the index page at http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ provided such a list, but it is blocked now. Would it be possible to make it accessible again or is there another (better) solution to get all the package names with their corresponding update times?

The AUR has a JSON interface that may help you.

Unfortunately not because the last update time is not contained in the returned object and it is not possible to get the names of all packages or at least I do not know how (searching for an empty package name does not work). Thanks for your reply anyway.

What about:
Offline
Yeah, that is possible but it would result in roughly 20,000 page views just for one scan. I do not think the devs would be very happy.

Sure, but the real issue is the last update time which is only available at the package pages.

Can you not get last update from the JSON interface? I have no idea...

$ wget -qO - 'http://aur.archlinux.org/rpc.php?type=info&arg=pidgin-mini'
{"type":"info","results":{"ID":"20712","Name":"pidgin-mini","Version":"2.6.4-1","CategoryID":"13","Description":"A minimal version of Pidgin; without finch, gtkspell, avahi etc. and does not install development files","LocationID":"2","URL":"http:\/\/pidgin.im\/","URLPath":"\/packages\/pidgin-mini\/pidgin-mini.tar.gz","License":"GPL","NumVotes":"55","OutOfDate":"0"}}
In any case, it would be way too much connections to get the data for all packages. The nice thing about the index page was that you could get all the data with only one connection (even though this index page was quite big).

Why do you need that information?
Seems odd that you would need the name of every package, as well as the last updated date of every package...
If you want 'recent updates' use the rss feed.

I need it to generate/update my aur pacman database. The rss feed is not really an option because it is too short and only lists new packages but not package updates.

Thanks for all your replies. Apparently there is no other good solution for this...
Does anyone know who to bug to get the index page back? The AUR Maintainer or one of the server admins?

There is an AUR section of the bug tracker, it's probably best to start there.
archlinux - please read this and this — twice — then ask questions.

So I opened a bug report ten days ago but there is rather little response (to exaggerate a bit...).
