simple but pretty cool game. try it if you haven't tried yet.

I'm still trying to find out how to do things (such as swing around objects with the hook, or move really fast), and it's a bit hard to find tips/info about such things..

This is an awesome game. I used to maintain it in [community] and it required extensive testing before release

I really enjoy playing it, but wow am I bad at it. You and I should join the same server and have fun not being able to do anything together.

We might even be able to get a kill in, inbetween all of our suicides! /me goes off to practice

what i learned today:

- when you graphle, the chain becomes shorter consistently, so you can use that to swirl around objects/upwards by pressing the arrow key for example to the right when you want to swirl to the left
- aiming is easier when you try to put the crosshair on the enemy, or a bit before him. i used to keep the crosshair closer to myself which doesn't allow much accuracy
- i once succeeded running really fast after being hit by a granade/rocket. but i haven't figured out how to do it myself yet

BTW I would think it would be pretty cool also if there was a game mode where the tempo was much slower, so you could play more tactically. now it's a bit too fast-paced i think.

Haha, what an awesome thread. I've played a pretty similar game, OpenLieroXtreme, for quite a bit and also tested teeworlds. So I kind of know what you are talking about, keep going!

This game is really great, but a bit hard to master, so maybe these tips will help somebody:
-Hook often, hook is weapon with no cool-down and infinite ammo. You can very easily disrupt other movement just with short hook (or even throw down to death tiles), you can stop them running and get to desired position (this does very nice kills, but for me they are pure luck)
-Hook often, hook is key of good movement. Do short hooks in front of you to get faster in narrow passages, if you go to corners, hook them and you will p[reserve your speed, which can be very high from falling.
-Try using grenade jumps, they gets big speedup, but check your hp
-Learn using all weapons, practice with grenade launcher, at first at static targets, then try to get time in and predict the movement (the puts great kills too, hitting someone you cannot see)
-Play vanilla Teeworlds, also some instagib for good aim, but diversity of vanilla gameplay is best.
-Try playing at higher mouse sensitivity (us inp_mousesens command in F1 console to set), so you can turn around very quickly, if you are above death tiles, try looking down after each ceiling hook. If you have good mouse, get sensitivity that does not put limits to your movement but you don't loose sensitivity, so you can move by one pixel. For cheap mouses that movement would be too slow, so maybe try to find the best. Also when playing with higher sensitivity consider turning off dynamic camera so you don't loose track of your position.
-Practice.

I just installed it and it's indeed really good. May replace UrT as my online game. The mouse sensitivity needs to be higher, I set mine to 200. I really like Instagib CTF and killing people around corners with the laser. The twitch style gameplay feels very natural, coming from FPS/Urban Terror I got right into it.

It's a tile that kills the tee that is on it, e.g. spikes usually are on death tiles so if you fall on them you die.

To move fast using the rocket launcher aim behind you, diagonally in the ground, shoot while you run in the opposite direction or hook often in the direction you want to go and don't use the arrows often while in air.

I used to play ctf, instagib ctf and freeze. Speed was one of my strong points in ctf games. However, not all maps permit fast movements.

This game is awesome
I play fng all the time. You have only laser and must freeze opponents, then throw them on spikes to kill them. Really fun
But there are only few servers with this mod

Tried it out a little today. Really fun and hectic, just have to try it out with a mouse now as a trackpad isn't really good for quick aiming.

The patch for the server wasn't released so only the developer's servers have this mod.
