Hi.
Recently, i tried to use s2disk in my eeepc 1005ha.
As far as i remember, it worked fine in the past, but now no more.
I use a little script which does
#!/bin/bash
ifconfig wlan0 down
rmmod ath9k
/usr/sbin/hibernate -F /etc/hibernate/ususpend-disk.conf
...where ususpend-disk.conf is something like:
USuspendMethod disk
Include common.conf
when i launch the script, console goes black and i can read:
s2disk: Snapshotting system
Nothing about other informations like compression ratio, progress percent are printed.
...after a while my desktop is restored, but hibernation failed, seems like s2disk crashed or something.
Logs aren't useful; /var/log/hibernate.log doesn't report errors.
I've kms disabled in console (i915.modeset=0 added to menu.lst); if i switch to it and try again, it works, but only after killing kdm/X.
kernel 2.6.32.7-1 and intel 2.9.1-1 here.

Have you tried using the pm-utils package tools (pm-suspend, pm-hibernate, ...)? They usually have the needed quirks included.

Yes, i tried, same result, here is /var/log/pm-suspend.log after an unsuccessful hibernate:
Initial commandline parameters:

success.

got the same issue, but i'm on a nc10.
They say that if you play a Win cd backward you hear satanic messages. That's nothing! 'cause if you play it forwards, it installs windows.
