I have updated some compiz related packages to new version from community repo.
What is wondering me, that some packages are at version 0.8.6 now, while others (f.ex. emerald) are at 0.8.4.
Anyway after reboot I can't run emerald. Also such plugins like expo and scale don't work.
Rolling back to version 0.8.4 from my pacman's cache don't solve my problem, so I was forced to switch to metacity for now.
So looks like all compiz plugins are broken.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem? How to solve it?
Thanks.

Works here.

Have you checked your settings? Maybe delete the config files altogether and start again.

The ccp plugin is not started per default. Changing the line
Exec=compiz
to
Exec=compiz ccp
in /usr/share/applications/compiz.desktop should fix the problem.

The shadows stoped working for me with gtk-window-decorator, but it works fine when I'm running Emerald.

Emerald and the decorator still work for me, but I get no shadows with decorator as posted above me.

Thank you jouke!
desktop file was changed after the update, so compiz autostart mechanism becomes broken.
I've chaged exec line to
Exec=/usr/bin/compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --indirect-rendering
and now all works fine.
Marking thread as solved.

Shadows doesn't work here either. Is that a bug from upstream?
Edit: downgrade compiz-decorator-gtk to 0.8.4-3 solves the problem.

caused by a typo preventing the gconf schemas from being merged. gtk-decorator shadows work in 0.8.6-2

Shadows do work i thought they had stopped with gtk-window decorator ass well, go to general in ccsm and adjust, they are set to completely transparent thats why you cant see them.

Edit:
The latest update solved the problem.
