I updated to Amarok 2.3.1 and now music streams/webradio doesn't work anymore. Anyone else experiencing this? Someone know, how I can get rid of this?
EDIT/SOLUTION: Switched phonon-backend from gstreamer to xine and now it works again.

Yes.
I had to manually download the .asx file (e.g. wget http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/audioasx.as … ass=48812).
Then open the downloaded .asx file with a text editor.
Find the following information e.g. "mms://wms-trn-all.streaming.net.nz/trn-newstalk-zb-akl".
This is the proper link that amarok can and will play. A bit of a faff, but it works for me.

I've always had to do it this way
I guess i was following the old maxim "it's not a bug, it's a feature"
"I know what you're thinking, 'cause right now I'm thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking it ever since I got here:
Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?"

hmm.. after reading your bug report i must say i cant replicate it either. i thought you meant you were opening aspx files from webpages, which is where i have to download and get the mms:// address manually. going through internet -> cool music -> soma fm, i was able to play it without problems. did you install any additional scripts? or maybe you can try going to the script manager, remove and reinstall the cool music script?

How do I remove and reinstall the cool streams script, that is part of Amarok?
Also: This doesn't work for other stream scripts (removing and reinstalling).

I imagine that tools -> script manager -> cool streams, then click uninstall at bottom. then "get more scripts" and look for cool streams (there should be regular and reloaded which has more genres according to this page.
i haven't tried this so at your own risk

As I mentioned, I did this with an other stream script and it didn't work and manually "insert" a stream (url) didn't work either for me.

well, short of deleting amarok configuration files, and maybe reinstalling, cant think of why it's not working for you...
