After updating flashplugin to version 10.1.53.64-1, konqueror and rekonq crashes when viewing webpages with flash. I've also found out that starting these browsers as root will make these browsers work normal again (don't crash watching flash content)... but that's not an acceptable solution.
Edit 1:
This was the output of konqueror:
(process:8303): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2706: You forgot to call g_type_init()
(process:8303): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed
(process:8303): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed
Segmentation fault
Firefox works normally.
Edit 2:
This only happens when using webkit as render engine in konqueror and rekonq. The normal konqueror (using khtml) is working as expected.

I've seen the same behaviour here Eric.
I just downgraded flashplugin to 10.0.45.2-1 from here for the time being:

I have no problems with this new version of the flashplugin. Maybe you should create a new temporary user, login as that and try it again. In case the browsers don't crash then, you can be sure that the crashes are caused by some of your config files in your $HOME.
DON'T run your browser as root, simply DON'T!!!!

Thanks. Now I can use rekonq again. :-)

I've tried this with a new user 'test'. The result was the same .
The browsers that will crash on my system: konqueror (using webkit), rekonq and arora. All these browsers use the webkit of Qt.
The browsers that will not crash: firefox and konqueror (using khtml).

Just for your info, I've upgraded Flash and Chromium is handling it just fine.
Running Arch on Eee PC 901 12 GB

That's probably because Chromium is not using Qt's webkit... I'll change the subject title.

i can confirm that both rekonq and arora crashes. as a workaround i also downgraded flash.

poor properiaty software (nvidia is an exception). How dumb a program can be, if it takes a catastrophy to compile on 64bits? If you make a good quality code, it should be compilable at any architecture! Skype and Adobe developers can't be that good anyway!

Could someone host the old flashplugin package? I don't have it in my cache.
Even after removing flashplugin, I kept having crashes. I have the solution - replace openjdk6 with jre. Now, I can surf normally, but without flash.
If both flashplugin and openjdk6 crash the browser, I'm wondering if qtwebkit is where the problem's at...

You can use opera-devel (aur) is qt4 and works fine with flash 10.1.
Excuse my poor English.

Just a heads up that those very nice Rekonq guys have fixed this problem internally with Rekonq version 0.5.0., and it's perfectly usable with flashplugin 10.1.53.64-1. The problem remains for other qtwebkit browsers although it's been fixed upstream for quite a while. http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/19855
