[solved] CUPS + HP Laserjet 1010

Hi everybody,

I didn't use my printer some time and some days ago i installed Arch new and when I wanted to print a test page, nothing happend. I had a look at the error_log and there is written "PID 3834 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip) stopped with status 22!" At the list of jobs was written "stopped with novalue"

I use "foomatic-db-ppd".

I configured my printer in the same way I did it many times and it always worked.

Can sombody help me? sad

Well, linuxprinting.org recommends the hplip-driver for that model. Just install via pacman.

Re: [solved] CUPS + HP Laserjet 1010

I have almost the same problem with HP LaserJet 1012 and KDE&CUPS. The following info is present on Information tab of Control Center->Printers:

State: Processing... (accepting jobs)
URI: ipp://localhost.localdomain:631/printers/hp_LaserJet_1012
Device: hp:/usb/hp_LaserJet_1012?serial=00CNFD165436
Model: HP LaserJet 1012 Foomatic/hpijs

(two drivers: 1012 hpijs and LaserJet 1012 pxl1010 - were used, with the same result).
When i send test page to printer, nothing happens. In job status window there are the following fields: job-printer-state-message="open device failed; will retry in 30 seconds...", job-printer-state-reasons="none".

What can be done to allow printing with HP Laserjet 1012?
