[SOLVED] stuck when trying to boot in UEFI mode

I have got an asrock x99 extreme3 with i7-5930k. Right now there is a working arch installation (installed last year) wich uses systemd-boot, so UEFI. I need to reinstall, but when I try to launch the live iso in UEFI mode it gets immediately stuck "GNU GRUB version ....” and it seems like I can't interact in any way with the grub shell. Reading on another thread I tried older versions of the iso, but it didn't work (I went as far as the 2023.05.01). When I boot the live in bios mode it works perfectly. I would really appreciate an advice. Sorry for the bad english and thanks in advance.

How exactly did you create the installation medium?

It should be possible to use the x86_64-efi target for the grub-install command in non-UEFI mode as long as the --removable option is also passed.

Hi, thanks for the response. I created the installation medium with dd in the exact way it is showed in the wiki. I did it this way many times and I never had problems... The problem is that I'd prefer to install systemd-boot as bootloader, and I'd also prefer to use archinstall because it's faster to use...obviously I can also do a manual installation, but is what you say also possible with systemd-boot?

So I tried a debian iso and it did the same exact thing, so I realized that my bios wasn't updated at the last version. I updated it and now it works...sorry for opening a thread about a problem that wasn't actually arch's.
