Request PKGBUILD: acer-wmi-battery

NOTE: I'm no kernel engineer, and IDK if I'll ever be able to keep these packages updated for a long time, but I hope it'll be simple enough to maintain.

Currently there's an experimental Linux kernel module that supports the following:
Battery Charge Limit, from Acer Care Center (Windows-only program).
- Limits battery percent to 80% (never going past that)
- Keeps the battery lasting long when laptops get old
- Needed when an Acer laptop is old, and no OEM batteries are sold for that model anymore

There's the normal version:
https://github.com/frederik-h/acer-wmi-battery

And a fork of it that converts it into a DKMS:
https://github.com/Diman119/acer-wmi-battery/tree/dkms

I'd like to request a PKGBUILD for these.

Thanks.

NOTE:
Feel free to use your judgement if it's appropriate for DKMS module to use the forked branch, or the original with a script (for maintainability sake)

Why don't you package them yourself? The AUR is a Place where everybody can contribute smile

Re: Request PKGBUILD: acer-wmi-battery

I understand, and I do maintain a few AUR packages: firefox-blocktube and mssql-tools, I'm just daunted by maintaining a kernel package myself.

Again, I would like to maintain this myself, but when building/maintaining the kernel is complicated, how about maintaining an AUR package of those?
If there will be any updates/breaking changes to these kernel stuffs, I won't be able to resolve those myself (at least, not with my current knowledge.)

Perhaps a guide or "Tips & Tricks"^TM on maintaining a kernel package can help, as IDK where to start.

For now, just a humble request for PKGBUILD of these I have.
