Some time ago I was expecting strange keyboard but-key-press-lockal lockups. They are gone now (xorg update maybe). Here is that thread:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=28325
But now I have other problem.
My keyboard randomly freezes in KDE. Everything works but I just can't enter anything. I can save my work using mouse and logout. Then new xorg has keyboard working again. Creating new session creates new xorg in which keyboard works, but after switching to old session keyboard still does not responds.
It seems that this guy had similar problem looking at how he has describe it:

What can I do about it? It is really pissing off. It does not happen often (1 - 2h), but still recreating my current workspace when I was in the midle of something ... not too pleasant.

i too have this problem, it is just random and appears sporadically..

I've got an impression that using sound (amarok) helps it to happen. But it's just wild guess.

Another one having same problem - in 2002!

And I'm pretty sure amarok helps to hang keyboard.

#kde @ freenode:
[21:08] <bram85> dpc: some apps like amarok or yakuake grab the keyboard but don't release it
[21:08] <bram85> dpc: happens basically with global shortcuts
[21:09] <bram85> dpc: ok, when it started since you used a global shortcut in one of those apps, close that app and your keyboard should be back
I'm waiting for next freez to check it. I'm using both amarok and yaukake. Please let me know if it helped you.

Described solution is probably not what was looking for. Keyboard in KDE still freezes - sometimes without amarok turned on. Killking amarok or yakuake does not help, killing other apps does not help neither. No trick with Kcontrol and changing keyboard option help neither.

well i also use amarok and yakuake.. but have not had any lockup in a while, i'll wait for it to freeze to test the "solution"

I've discovered that after such keyboard lockup Fx keys worked, but only in java application (Cgoban3).
