Pacman running but getting error message

Hello all.  I am new to Arch Linux having just installed it this weekend.  I ran an FTP install just installing the base packages at first.  I originally had difficulties getting the internet configured correctly but after checking the wiki I am up and running.

When I run pacman I get a message that there is an invalid locale (or incorrect -  I am at work and forgot to bring my notes with the exact message, sorry).  It then says it will use C as default.  The packages install without issue, but, wanting everything to be "right" I have to ask if I have something configured incorrectly?  If so, just head me to the right config or even the wiki page if I missed it.

Tonight I am working on getting xorg and gnome up and running.  smile  I have enjoyed the install very much and I have learned a lot so far.  I am looking forward to learning more.  I am so very please with how fast Arch loads.  I have been used to bigger installs with lots of things I do not use.

Re: Pacman running but getting error message

You'll have to uncomment your locale in /etc/locale.gen and run the command locale-gen as root. Should take care of it.

Re: Pacman running but getting error message

Hi. I tried to do as you described but the error message is still there.
"warning: current locale is invalid; using default "C" locale"

Took away the "#" before "sv_SE.UTF-8" in /etc/locale.gen and ran the command "locale-gen" as described.

Have i done anything wrong?

Happy For Answer.

Did you run 'locale-gen' as root?

What did you set your LANG variable to, or what is your language setting in rc.conf? You should probably be using "sv_SE.utf8".

Re: Pacman running but getting error message

Yes i did run the command 'locale-gen' as root.
My language setting in rc.conf was en_US.utf-8, fixed this in locale.gen. but the error message is still there.
My Webmin ppp dialup stopped to work aswell with pacman 3.0. Installed pacman with "pacman -Sy pacman".
Testing a full update now if it maybe can solve some of my problems, or can i get the old pacman back? (In a easy way smile )

Thanks in advance

You didn't read what I typed.

en_US.utf8 (mine)
is different than
en_US.utf-8 (yours)

You want no hyphen.
