Because bold/italic terminus doesn't look too good.
i think that's just urxvt, bold looks fine in other terminals, but goes ick in urxvt for me.

Just because it hasn't been mentioned, this has been my favorite for a long time. But I do usually use the ttf vera or dejavu sans mono for graphical stuff.
