SOLVED: Where is Eterm?

Sorry if I missed a memo, but I need Eterm to run fbsetbg properly.

But [Ee]term doesn't seem to be in any of the repositories.

Where is it?

That's be cause it is no longer listed as a supported terminal app.. It's in the AUR under unsupported...

Re: SOLVED: Where is Eterm?

You can use feh and other wallpaper setters, Eterm is not required for fbsetbg.

Also take a look at nitrogen for a different approach.

svienemann, not very cracious are we.. Devs put in a lot of work maintaining packages and not every terminal app can or will be maintained..I don't get the to "much work", you compile once and you're done. I don't think eterm is even maintained upstream anymore..so it makes sense not to have it in the main repos.

Not for a package that very few people use. That's what AUR unsupported is FOR! Community is for packages that a TU is willing to maintain but is not important enough to be supported by the distro. If Eterm in unsupported got a lot of votes, it would end up in there.

Re: SOLVED: Where is Eterm?

Even so, fluxbox is still in community last i checked, so why stop supporting one of the dependencies for backgrounds?

/me trodes off to waste 5minutes to make his own package

All I can say is start voting...

Also look at the link below for a list of wallpaper setters that fluxbox supports... As you can see eterm isn't required...
