Just thought that this might help somebody. I got vmware workstation 6.02 working with the newer kernel using the instructions listed here:

just followed the instructions @ http://communities.vmware.com/message/857374

just a tiny bit modified 115 patch and it worked flawless

that 116 patch isn't official anyways ....

hi!,
i follow that instructions and i can't get modules compilation with the new changes introduced. Its seems that config.pl just skip that part, then the vmware init script just fail silently. Somebody can tell me how i can force the modules recompilation after aply the any-any update modified?
