So I was having similar problems with Dolphin, and everything started working beautifully once I disabled Nepomuk. I have no idea why, but perhaps this is something to try.
I still have KDE4 on here so I tried your suggestion, and sure enough, the Dolphin freezes/crashes have stopped and the system is indeed much more responsive, overall.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Just an update...
One side effect of disabling Nepomuk is that I have a screen full of thread errors each time after logging out of KDE4 to the console, but at least Dolphin no longer freezes or crashes.

You guys should file a bug report. I would, but I don't have any crashes.

Oops, keither... I spoke too soon it seems, because I just had another freeze in Dolphin and that with Nepomuk disabled. I had no more freezes until I mounted an external drive and opened the file list in Dolphin. Just after the list appeared, Dolphin froze for about 15 seconds, or so.
Not sure, but I'm thinking this might be some kind of upstream bug (Soprano, maybe?).

Hi guys, same issues here. The difference between me and most of you is that I installed Arch yesterday, so mine wasn't upgraded from 4.3.1, my initial install contained 4.3.2.

Yup, I tried it as a 4.3.2 upgrade only, then tried again with a fresh KDE4 profile, then tried yet again with a fresh Arch install, and ran into the same problem all three times.

For whoever happens to be reporting this, it appears to be in openSUSE 11.2 as well.

Thanks for the info and link.
All I can say is that KDE 4.3.2 has been problematic in a lot of ways for lots of users, and it seems like a huge responsibility for the maintainers, so I have to add that I admire Pierre his helpers greatly for their ability to work through these issues and to keep the packages coming!

Ok with kdeutils-printer-applet 4.3.2-4 the problem has been fixed. No more critical error.

Disabling Nepomuk solved the problem for me too. Thanks.
I can see the code, and change it too
I can make it do things I want it to do
And I think to myself, what a wonderful code

Hrm... I am on kdeutils-printer-applet 4.3.2-4 and I am having both the segfaulting issue and the sometimes-slow-responsiveness issue with Dolphin. Is anyone else still having issues? I am on Arch 64.

I am having all kinds of problems with KDE 4.3.2, such as it not refreshing whenever I delete a file or complaining about khotkeys when I launch kmenuedit.

Hrm... maybe '[SOLVED]' should be removed from the title of this topic...

I'm having this issue with KDE 4.3.2 (the Dolphin segfaults) and it doesn't matter what I disable it still happens. It's making me seriously think about heading back over the the world of GNOME. If only f-spot was equal or even close to equal with digikam in features.

I can confirm crashes of dolphin while nepomuk is activated.
Anyone looked in his .xsession-errors ? With Nepomuk activated, i possibly get quite nasty things before the crashes.

This issue is fixed on my end with the upgrade to 4.3.3.

Unfortunately, with KDE 4.3.3 I am still having the issue where I have to manually refresh my desktop each time.

I'm having this issue as well...
Very annoying!

Same here as well. I wish we knew how Kubuntu solved it.
