Im using openbox, it wont work with mouse over desktop, and with keybinding.
And submenu on right click on taskbar (move to #desktop) is gone.
I guess system thinks that there is only 1 desktop.
Oh! Why did I update, will I ever learn????

Anyone? Pls, its hard with only one desktop

If you 'learn' not to update, then perhaps Arch isn't for you.
And with the lack of information provided, quite hard for anyone to help you. Its probably an openbox issue, since you're using that as a WM. Check the conf file.

I was a joke ngoonee, about updating.
Here:
(openbox:3273): Openbox-WARNING **: Openbox is configured for 4 desktops, but the current session has 1. Overriding the Openbox configuration.
I have told you its not openbox to blame, but new gnome...
I have tried metacity, and it shows 4 desktops. After that, I did openbox --replace and it also shows 4 desktops.
But when I log out or restart, problem is back.

I'm experiencing the same issue!

Must be some gnome setting that defines numbere of desktops (beside metacity config) but I cant find it.

Same problem here. Have anyone written a bug report?
Edit : Or maybe it's a feature

Tried to google this, but can find anything. I have filed bug report for openbox long time ago, about overriding DE settings for virtual desktops, and use as specified in rc.xml. But as you can see it is still not fix.
Dont know how much sense does it make to report this to archlinux bugtracker.

same here, it's annoying. you can get your desktops back if you start obconf, change number of desktops and change it back.
can someone hint me to where 2.28 actually is better? Nautilus is showing my mounted encrypted disks again, even though I set "volume.ignore" in hal, gdm ... wtf?!, all my firefox bookmark icons are gone, and so on ...

Don't start gnome-settings-daemon ?

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...
