Today I upgraded openssl to openssl-0.9.8m. I mounted my encfs (1.5-9) encrypted folder and at first it seemed that everything works as usual but then I noticed errors. Many files were not accessible and appeared to be empty. I noticed many read errors on the mounted encfs partition. I downgraded openssl and most of the files became accessible again (without read errors) but many other stayed corrupted.
In short, my encrypted folder is corrupted beyond repair. I have strong suspicion that this is caused by the last openssl upgrade. I downgraded openssl and accessed other encrypted folders and they were accessible without errors. I am posting this as a warning to be careful with the openssl upgrade if you are using encfs on your system.

Same here. After upgrade parts of files in mounted encfs volume contained garbage.
Downgrading to previous version of openssl (0.9.8l) fixed the problem for me too.
I've uploaded it here: http://esack.rootnode.net/files/openssl … pkg.tar.gz

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Edit: Nvm, bug has been reported upstream on encfs mailing list.
