How do I change the theme for the root user?

I tried changing it with nwg-look and dconf-editor, but it changes back after I changed it.

Am I to understand you are trying to run Gnome as root?  Or are you using something that gives you elevated privilege when you run a specified program?

I want to run thinkfan-iu with the Arc-dark theme, but when I run it as a normal user, it asks for a password every time I change the fan speed, like here: FluxBB bbcode test. But when I run it as root, it opens with the default Adwaita theme.

First off all this is a Qt application.
Secondly do not run GUI stuff as root. EVER.
