I am currently using Gnome and installed i3 tiling window manager. In "/usr/share/xsessions" there is the "i3.desktop" file. However after I rebooted my computer, disabled and renabled gdm, and uninstalled and reinstalled i3. It is still not showing up in the gdm window manager menu when logging in. Please help thanks.

I had the same issue, it means that xorg is not installed on your system.
To fix it just install the xorg package group
```
sudo pacman -S xorg
```
