Cannot start or enable Bluetooth

Hi. I am not sure what is happening, but today I cannot start or enable bluetooth. It has been working OK during the last 2/3 years I have been using it in this computer. I only use bluetooth for the keyboard. I also use Gnome.

bluez and bluez-utils are installed. The bluetooth.service is enabled and also started. But when I reboot and I click on the Gnome control panel, it appears as off. When I click to start it (through Gnome) it immediately moves the toggle to off.

I don't really understand what is going on. This morning I did a system update, and then I rebooted, and it stopped working. This is the output from pacman.log:

Did you already reboot your system? Also did you maybe upgrade earlier and just didn't reboot your system since then? Changes i.e. to the kernel are not applied without a reboot.

Expanding on what gromit said, Check that the versions reported by uname -a and by pacman -Q linux  (Assuming you are running the mainline kernel)
