Weird screensharing issue (memory leak)

Hi, i'm unable to screenshare on my KDE arch setup, the problem is:
When I start screen sharing, my ram + swap fill up pretty quickly (~100s of MBs per second), which leads to a total system freeze on firefox and browser tab crash on brave.
I noticed it first on an MS Teams meet when sharing my screen to a colleague, and am able to reproduce it the same way every time on https://gifcap.dev.
However it doesn't happen on https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html, neither in obs-studio with pipewire capture.
I tried wayland as well as x11 and also other firefox/chromium based browsers and hardware acceleration on/off which made no difference.
My graphics card is nvidia geforce rtx 3060ti with the prioprietary driver, version 580.82.09

After further testing it seems like my particular issue was Firefox Developer Edition + MS Teams, teams work in brave...

Re: Weird screensharing issue (memory leak)

I'm experiencing the same issue in Hyprland. It happens with Discord & MS Teams screen sharing. It doesn't seem to happen on Chromium, but I've reproduced it consistently on latest Firefox, Firefox Beta, and Firefox Developer Edition even when forcing X11.

Re: Weird screensharing issue (memory leak)

I ended up installing Edge just for the Teams PWA...
Yup, there is definitely some issue with Firefox + some cases of screensharing.
