Im currently using hyprland and i just want to do screen sharing but with the window option through pipewire, but idk why it always crash or just show a black screen. i tried to use obs virtual camera trick and for some reason my zoom doesnt detect that.
meanwhile discord using XWayland either can do screen sharing and also detecting my OBS virtual camera properly

i can confirm that it use xwayland from xorg-xeyes and xwayland=true in zoomus.conf
Yeah i did check the wiki but it doesnt fix my zoom screenshare.
i already set the enableWaylandshare=true
I mean it can screenshare my whole monitor but it cant share just a single window e.g zen browser.
It will almost everytime crash the screenshare and the shared screen goes black
i had also tried to use xwaylandvideobridge but idk how to use it, i only get the white screen but thats all tho.

Have you tried running it as native wayland client and follow the suggestions to use wayland screensharing ?

yeah doesnt work well. and its very buggy like the window keeps flickering whenever its not in "fullscreen".
maybe its because hyprland keeps "forcing" the screenshare window shape and position to a certain position, but idk.
or maybe im just bad at this lol.

Try the behavior w/ not-hyprland (eg. sway)
or maybe im just bad at this lol.
Does it work w/o problem on an X11 session?
The wayland protocol is incredibly nasty itr - screensharing/recording hasn't worked at all for like 16 years or so…

It's not so much about moving on but isolating where the problem exactly is to be sought.
