you'll have a "printer application" that provides the driver settings and then cups talks IPP to "that" which in turn talks to the printer
So you'll have a daemon that listens on 631 (therefore probably nested VM or at least providing its own NIC, maybe that's where snap comes in…) and then uses (ppd?) drivers to control the printer.
Why does that sound like what cups is doing right now? ![]()
Let's wait and see - IPPe however makes things more robust right now - especially when some cups are clearly falling off the shelf… ![]()
