[SOLVED!] "PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: No such entity"

[FIXED!!]
(note: this is a fix for sof-essx8336, i changed the title because i had no more space left)

Fix by forcing the ''JD inverted'' quirk via a module parameter:

{{hc|/etc/modprobe.d/sof-es8336-jd-inverted.conf|
options snd_soc_sof_es8336 quirk=64
}}

Regenerate the initramfs and reboot:

mkinitcpio -P
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Jack detetection may still misreport occasionally

On some boards, this quirk fixes the crash-on-Speaker-port issue but jack detection may still intermittently flip to reporting "headphones present"
during normal use (not just at boot),  for example after a suspend/resume cycle. When this happens, {{ic|pactl list sinks}} will show:

Active Port: analog-output-headphones

with {{ic|analog-output-speaker}} marked {{ic|not available}}, and sound will stop working even though the sink still appears as the system default. If this happens, recover with:

$ pactl set-sink-port alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof-essx8336.stereo-fallback analog-output-speaker
$ systemctl --user restart wireplumber

The port switch alone may not be enough to restore audio, a WirePlumber restart is often also needed to re-establish the stream link to the sink.

Affected hardware reporting this issue: {{ic|Aquarius-CmpNS483-1.0-NS483IS2}}
({{ic|sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl}}, Intel Tiger Lake platform).

[this text below is my previous error post, feel free to read xd . just know it's resolved now]

Sound disappears (system-wide, all apps affected). When it happens:

$ speaker-test -c2 -twav
...
ALSA lib pcm_pulse.c:758:(pulse_prepare) [error.] PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: No such entity
Unable to set hw params for playback: Input/output error
Setting of hwparams failed: Input/output error

pactl info shows an active connection to the pulse socket, correct default sink name, and the socket itself (/run/user/1000/pulse/native) has correct ownership/permissions (srw-rw-rw-, freshly created). Native PipeWire playback also fails:

$ pw-play /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
stream node 71 error: no target node available

What I've figured out so far (and what I've done):
1. UCM verb loading bug (real, but not the root cause):  journalctl --user -u wireplumber consistently shows:

   spa.alsa: Failed to get the verb HiFi
   spa.alsa: No UCM verb is valid for <<<SplitPCM=1>>>hw:0

Traced this to a broken cset control references in the packaged sof-essx8336 UCM profile (/usr/share/alsa/ucm2/Intel/sof-essx8336/). Verified with amixer -c 0 cset name='...' that these controls don't exist on this hardware:

Left Headphone Mixer Left DAC Switch
Right Headphone Mixer Right DAC Switch
Digital Mic Mux
Headphone Playback Volume
Headphone Mixer Volume
DAC Source Mux
DAC Mono Mix Switch (in SectionVerb.EnableSequence, runs unconditionally on every verb load)

Actual amixer -c 0 scontrols output for this card includes instead: Headphone, Speaker, DAC, ADC, ALC, HPVol SPKVol, Headset Mic, Internal Mic, etc. which is a clearly a different control-naming convention than what the shipped profile expects.
Removing the broken DAC Mono Mix Switch line from HiFi.conf did not fix sound, instead caused the card to fall back to "Dummy Output" entirely (worse). Then I reverted the change.

2. Kernel/firmware regression
Downgraded linux 7.2.6 --> 7.2.3 and linux-firmware/linux-firmware-intel 20260916 --> 20260810 (cached packages). No change in behavior. The sof-audio-pci-intel-tgl IPC errors for HDMI PCM streams (pcm6/pcm7, "HDMI 2"/"HDMI 3") appear on both firmware versions and are unrelated (no HDMI connected).
3. Stale WirePlumber default-nodes cache
This **was** a separate bug (Bluetooth earbuds pinned as default sink even after disconnect) fixed earlier by clearing ~/.local/state/wireplumber/default-nodes. Not related to this issue.
4. Pipewire-pulse crash/restart
systemctl --user status pipewire-pulse shows it running fine, only warning is an occasional mod.protocol-pulse: [client] timeout on stream ... channel:0
5. User pulse config cache
Did rm -rf ~/.config/pulse + full pipewire/pipewire-pulse/wireplumber restart, nothing changed.
6. Full logout/login
This actually changed the error signature: speaker-test ran with no error but produced no audible sound. I investigated and found that it showed pactl list sinks were reporting "   Active Port: analog-output-headphones   " despite nothing being plugged in into the headphone jackport, with analog-output-speaker marked not available. Manually switching the port reproduces the original "No such entity" crash immediately:

   $ pactl set-sink-port alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3-platform-sof-essx8336.stereo-fallback analog-output-speaker
   $ speaker-test -c2 -twav
   ALSA lib pcm_pulse.c:758:(pulse_prepare) [error.] PulseAudio: Unable to create stream: No such entity

My current "theory" is that the jack-sense misdetection on this ES8336 variant is causing PipeWire/ACP to default to (or get stuck on) analog-output-headphones with nothing connected. Attempting to force-switch the active port to analog-output-speaker via pactl set-sink-port appears to trigger the ALSA/pulse stream-creation failure, as if the port-switch operation itself is what's crashing the pulse-compat stream negotiation for this card.

Has anyone seen this specific combination before? Happy to provide any additional logs.
