SANE driver (or other software) for my film strip scanner?

I took advantage of a cheap (£40) offer from Aldi and bought a "Tevion Film Strip Scanner" which nominally is only meant to work on Windows XP and Vista. On Arch, lsusb identifies the device as:

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 05a9:1550 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. VEHO Filmscanner

and it looks identical to the particular model: Veho VFS-004

I've done quite a bit of searching, and found some hints in forums that SANE might support it, but no evidence of this on the SANE site. Also, Avision drivers for film scanners were mentioned, but no go either when I tried to tweak /etc/sane.d/avision.conf with the device info. Also, I tried the VueScan program which was also hinted to work, but got "scanner not found". sad

I do have access to Windows to use the device on, but it would be great if anyone knew how it could be accessed on Arch.

The video from the scanner can be read through V4L2, so you can use ffplay or OBS Studio to capture the feed.

I am aware I am answering a question posted before I was born, but I don't like leaving questions unanswered.
