Re: September 2010 Screenshots

Not much different from last month:

fvwm-screenshot-09-10-tn.png

As usual -- several xterms running.  On other pages (which you can't see) is tabbed and several swallowed instances of vimprobable (a web browser, behaving like vimperator, only it doesn't suck as much).

Of course, dear xteddy is gracing my screenshot.  :D  *hug*.

This is FVWM.

[Edit]:  Yes, the thumbnail is deliberately that small.  What's that?  You're squinting?  Oh, that's OK, try squinting randomly, it'll help reflect the arbitrary anal enforcements that happen here.

Was there some level of fail here then?  Only the correct syntax for the above is:

Re: September 2010 Screenshots

Hi all,

I've been trying to stick to KDE and Qt apps. I have succeeded for the most part except for the browser... till now. Rekonq is becoming quite a well rounded browser for KDE.

[edit] Those were thumbnails according to imgur... Anyways...

No, try to quote someone else's img in a url block. For some reason or another FluxBB is transforming the inner img tags into url tags when you try to quote them. It's happened to me an abundant amount of times in the last week. On the verge of posting about it.

Also, for the life of me, I cannot get profont to show any bold stuff at all.  Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks.

It's not ProFont I think, it is - MonteCarlo.

We can do without that type of comments here. If you want to rant, get a blog. Or a Twitter account.

Made a few updates to my netbook.  The music at the bottom is ogg123 connecting to my MPD server on my desktop.  It is using the built-in streaming in the newer version of MPD, no IceCast! big_smile

Re: September 2010 Screenshots

Haven't posted a screenshot in a while as I tend to use the one theme for months. Thought I'd try using a different theme for a bit:

Desktop:
Z6S58W9

"Busy":
pkozpqf

Terminal:
nkzbEFc

I'm not sure why screenfo is reporting no users on my system 0_o

- The desktop background is from a Swiss railway photo gallery (www.bahnbilder.ch) ; does anyone know of any other similar galleries where all the images are Creative Commons?

- The panel is AWN and the Conky top panel is a slight rewrite of the old one, I experimented with the rings but they didn't look quite right; terminal colours are same as always.

Flickr has a creative commons license section: http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons/.

Wikimedia Commons is another good place for a large selection of CC licensed illustrations: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page.

It's not always easy to determine the copyright status of government published photos, but many of them are public domain.  One place to start searching for U.S. government photos is: http://www.usa.gov/Topics/Graphics.shtml.
