Re: September 2010 Screenshots

My Awesome Window Manager setup hasn't changed much, but I have a new GNOME desktop that I'm pretty happy with:

Clean
tNWlrNw

Dirty:
tNWlrOA

Details:

  • Link to wallpaper

  • Elementary GTK theme/icons with nautilus mod and breadcrumb hack

  • Some custom icons from the "Faenza" and "Token Dark" icon packs.

Thanks. It's the wombat256 colorscheme (for 256 color terminals, urxvt is the rxvt-unicode-afterimage AUR package) and the font Inconsolata (also available in AUR).

Back to GNOME, after realizing how nice it is to have a full-blown DE in Mint's Debian-based distro.

I totally agree. I am tired of maintaining very basic things, which should just work in my oppinion. So i also switched from compiz-standalone to GNOME.

Equinox Light with Faenza Icons. Why isn't archey showing this things? Hope the author reads this smile
I am also using DockbarX, really like it smile Although it's not working perfect yet...

Tired of maintaining? You mean, tired of installing something new when you need to open/use/edit something, or? Maintaining standalone installations is pretty much the same as maintaining DEs, imo...

Re: September 2010 Screenshots

I don't think that it is the same. For instance auto-mount is working out of the box in GNOME, and in compiz I had to install thunar with the volman-extension. Sure this special thing isn't much work, but the time needed for such things cumulates.

Fresh after a install (second time installing Arch, second day of using/configuring Arch) I've come up with this for the time being.

Mountainjew, I must say I really like your your desktop for its simplicity. Are you running conky for your system monitoring?

@Jebus_: Nice hostname! Nice colorscheme! Some sexy code you're showing off there as well... you should try Monte Carlo or Profont, that terminus font looks huge.

Thanks! Would love to get ProFont up and running just as in your screenshot, But I'm lost as to why it wont work.. And as for the code yeah it's sexy.... I wonder who is the author? tongue

Edit; So I FINALLY decided on a font... (Inconsolata incase you wonder)
