No response from the Conky people. I probably don't but does anyone else care to write a patch?

Re: [solved] Conky 1.81 and execpi regression (messed up output)?

I have tried to find out when / if conky 1.8.2 will be released with the fixed bugs for execp/execpi and goto/offset variables to work together but it seems the conky# irc channel is inactive.

I have just reverted to 1.8.0 for now because I use execp/execpi quite a bit and there doesn't seem to be another option to have it working right now

If you want lua and nv support with 1.8.0 I've made a new version of the conky-lua-nv AUR PKGBUILD which points to 1.8.0, called conky-lua-nv-old, works a treat smile

Hope that helps

Downgrading from 1.8.1-r2 to 1.8.0-r1 did indeed fix the null character issues. I tried so many other ways to get around this.

Edit: I've uploaded a patch to AUR.

Yes, I closed my upstream bug-report as soon as I realized this.
