Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

This is to move the discussion from http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32072 to a more suitable area.

nop, the same while using the stable drivers.

Hm. I'm also experiencing these problems when I've got a lot of Flash stuff running (in fact, when I've got more than 1).

Maybe caused by the latest beta drivers (270.30)?

I'm also using Nvidia + VDPAU. Maybe youtube changed something in their player.

Libvdpau hasn't been updated since February 9th so that's hardly it. I'm using [testing] and VDPAU myself and am not experiencing such issues.

I know the ones that aren't having problems likely will not chime in here, so I will. Nvidia GPU on a few systems and I haven't had issues with the current or last previous update.

I can confirm having the same errors as posted by JokerBoy on pastie, but have no idea where to start debugging it.

Re: Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

When I commented on the AUR package, I was using nouveau. I switched to nvidia (nvidia-ck-core2 to be exact, I use the kernel26-ck repository) and everything is smooth now.

Re: Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

I'm currently running the nvidia package from the main repositories.  Are there any other patches applied to the nvidia-ck-core2 package that might account for the fix?

no, the only difference it's that nvidia-ck comes with a gzipped module.

Re: Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

Very strange.  I've uninstalled nvidia and re-installed it hoping it might fix it, but I have yet to restart X.  I'll probably post back tomorrow if it helped or not (it's nearly 10pm in Germany now).

*EDIT* Re-installing nvidia hasn't fixed anything.  However, the issue seems to be less prominent using google-chrome-dev from the AUR, instead of Firefox.  I also noticed that there are some updates to nvidia and the kernel, which haven't made it to my mirror yet.  Maybe they'll improve the problem as well.

Re: Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

A workaround is disable hardware acceleration from settings.

Re: Flashplugin-prerelease crashes on 64 bit system

Thanks for the tip.  However, I can't uncheck the settings box in Flash Square 10.2 (or is it 10.3?) from the flashplugin-prerelease.  I can only pull up the settings window through a flash game, but can't click on any of the options with the mouse and using tab/space and enter don't work.  (This is in WMFS in a tiled workspace).  Can anyone get this working?

*EDIT* Changing the setting from Openbox worked and the setting stuck for WMFS.
