@ kaszak696, i don't get such a behaviour. Either it's a bug, or maybe the pdf is defective?

Hmm, that document has title pages that are much larger than standard pages and the gap between them is normal, it seems that all pages are forced to be the same size as the biggest one with black color filling the extra space. Only Zathura seems to do this for me.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hi,

First off, zathura is really the best document viewer out there! Thanks a lot for the time and work you spend on it.
Now my question: will we ever see an epub viewer integrated in zathura? Someone has started working on it last year afaics, but is there any more work in that direction?

Cheers

Add this to your ~/.config/zathura/zathurarc:

map [fullscreen] a adjust_window best-fit
map [fullscreen] s adjust_window width

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hi,

I recently noticed, that the explanations on the right when tab-completing are too far right, so that I can only see the first few letters.
I've only tried the german version, as I don't know how to switch the language only for zathura.

Is this a bug or how do I solve this?

greets,
David

I see what you are refering to, would you mind creating a bug report on bugs.pwmt.org?

You can change the language by changing your locale.

Re: zathura - a document viewer

I was going to submit a bug to the zathura bug tracker, but it won't let me: the only item in the "Project" dropdown menu is "No selection" and when I fill out the rest of the form, I get the error message "Error: Required issue property project not supplied".

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Hello,

In order to use zathura to open pdf directly from firefox (and I assume from other applications using .desktop files to find the appropriate pdf viewer) it seems that the zathura.desktop file should contain the following line:

MimeType=application/pdf;

Without it firefox keeps opening pdfs with inkscape or gimp (whichever is installed) without taking into account the chosen application for pdfs.

With the new version of zathura we released new versions of the plugins as well. Please wait until they reach the archlinux repositories since they contain special .desktop files that indeed include the corresponding supported mime types. Once they are upgraded this should not be a problem anymore; otherwise please don't hesitate to get in touch and tell us.

Kind regards

Does anyone else have the problem that printed stuff is blurred, unlike when printed for example from evince?

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Definitely a nice, clean and fast pdf view! Great work so far! The only feature I might miss, is to highlight text permanently. Although, I think the view is perfect as it is!

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Evince went the way of other Gnome programs, so this seems like a good choice to switch to.  Some thoughts/questions:

Is there a way to set maximised state on startup?  (Edit: never mind, if I set width and height large enough Compiz seems to do this for me.)

It would be nice if it remembered search term between sessions, like Vim (if I search for something, then close Vim, then open a different file and press 'n', it will search for that term again).

The man page says :help should give a help page, but it doesn't seem to do anything for me (doesn't even show an error, and there's nothing on stdout/stderr).

There's a scroll-step option, but is it possible to bind different keys to different scroll amounts?  Maybe the 'scroll' shortcut function takes an argument (I don't see these documented anywhere)?

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Mm, I'm liking it so far.  Another thought: escape should probably remove whatever's in the command buffer (the one where things like 'gg' go, not the : one) - and input like arrow keys should still work when there's something in it (and maybe also remove it).

Re: zathura - a document viewer

Possible bug: when searching a pdf file with the mupdf plugin installed, the match highlight is updated only on page change. With the poppler plugin it works as expected.

Steps to reproduce with this file:
1. Open the file with zathura (using the mupdf plugin).
2. Type '/available': nothing is highlighted.
3. Change page, than go back to page 1, e.g. press 'page-down', then 'page-up': two matches are highlighted, the first one has green background.
4. Choose the next match by pressing 'n': the page shifts.
5. Change page like in 3.: the second match has green background.
