Thanks, I got now how to use the bookmark, bmark mybm1 to bookmark a page, than blist mybm1 to go to the bookmarked page, if i I need to list all this saved bookmarks I don't know how, anyway I would appriciate to know what's the Visual Mode and the Insert Mode (some examples of use would be great).

Does zathura support dual view?
Xmonad gets sh*t done. Fast.

To list bookmarks saved and open them, then just continue pressing tab after blist which goes through the list and then return to open...
Sorry I dunno what insert or visual mode is in zathura? I tried to search but couldn't find anything and the man isn't helpfull either... In vim, then insert mode is when typing text and not commands and visual mode is for when wanting to mark a section of text visually for e.g. copying etc.

As far as I know, it does not. Only 2 forms I know it supports its fit-to-page and fit-to-width.

It does nothing at the moment.

Is there an http equivalent for the git repo? I'm behind a firewall at work, and can't use the git protocol with a git:// address. Many other repos have this, but I haven't been able to find one for zathura.

Yes, as listed on their homesite: http://git.pwmt.org/
Gzipped tarball of latest zathura snapshot: http://git.pwmt.org/?p=zathura.git;a=sn … EAD;sf=tgz

Perhaps I'm dense. What command results in a successful clone of zathura in the following form:
$ git clone http://fill-in-the-blank-here.git
?

Another question about mapping, I'd like to map shift-space to do FULL_UP (according to config.h), but can't figure out the syntax to the :map command.
It'd be a lot more convenient if simply calling :map listed down current mappings, which we could then emulate (as pentadactyl does it).

Does such an http git address exist for zathura? I've looked and looked and have never found such an address for any project that uses the (I believe, anyway) repo.or.cz style sites. Thanks for any tips.

Ehh, you cannot use git to clone a http address! The http addresses of repositories are for their web-interface.
To clone the zathura git repository:
git clone git://pwmt.org/zathura.git

@mhertz:
Sigh... no one is trying to clone an http address -- I want to clone a git repo using the http protocol. Did you ready my POST where I state why I want to do this? I'm behind a firewall and 'git clone git://anything-you-can-think-of.git' does't work.
github realizes this, hence their notice HERE and provision of an http protocol alternative, as discussed HERE.
repo.or.cz is another popular hosting site, and is used by emacs org-mode (which I use everyday); they address those behind firewalls HERE, where they say:
For those of you behind a firewall that allows only HTTP, you can clone like this (can be somewhat slow), either from orgmode.org or from repo.or.cz:
$ git clone http://orgmode.org/org-mode.git $ git clone http://repo.or.cz/r/org-mode.git
Lastly, Arch hosted git repos have this alternative as well. See one example (just picked the top of the list), ABS and note the bottom of the page:
Clone
git://projects.archlinux.org/abs.git
http://projects.archlinux.org/git/abs.git
https://projects.archlinux.org/git/abs.git
Are things any clearer? All I'm asking is if the zathura repo has an alternative address that can be accessed via http protocol for those behind firewalls. The git:// address just times out for me because it's blocked. I can keep downloading a snapshot and manually fiddling with the PKGBUILD to point to it, but it'd be much easier to just change the PKGBUILD address to point to a repo I can access.

I sincerly apologise for my lack of understanding and wrong posting, then!
Yes, when I said http address, i did know that you where after a http://git... address, which _still_ is a http address i.e. using the http protocol and not the git one!
However, I did not know that you could use git to clone from a webinterface of a git repository, and so for that I apologize!
Yes, I did read your original post, and I also replied with a link for a non-git downloadable source, as I just thought you where after getting a way to download the source, and not that you where after still using git specifically!
Sorry that I do not have a solution for you, but I just felt that I had to explain that I wasen't a total idiot, _and_ give you an apologi for posting wrong info i.e. "not being able to use git from http..."
CU, Martin.

@mhertz: No worries; thanks for the apology. I'm probably in the extreme minority of people that experiences any issues with using the git protocol -- it's only becasue of my corporate firewall. Thus, some probably never have to worry about it and aren't aware of it -- no problem. Like I said, I can download the tar.gz snapshot and manually copy it to the right place during a yaourt build, but it's kind of annoying -- at least it hasn't been updating that often.
The question probably requires mlq's input or whoever manages the domain. I think only they would know if there's an http alternative protocol available. I've seen that style of repo interface before and never been able to find an alternative... I live with it

thanks, mate; I hope you find a solution by someone else among here more smarter than me, which shouldn't be hard to find!

Zathura looks like a great pdf viewer, and I want to use it as my default pdf viewer.
Unfortunately I cannot find the config.h file, I used "find / -name config.h, and none of them had anything to do with Zathura.
I've tried searching online, but don't exactly know what steps I should take to find it.
If anyone can post me a link to the source code it would be greatly appreciated.
I just want to be able to use the + and - keys on my keypad to zoom in and out, and by opening a pdf file simply by clicking it from chromium.
I know I can create a zathurarc to configure Zathura, but I'm not sure how to write the code without an example.
Thanks in advance.

@jabrick: you need the config.h file from the zathura source. You can either check it from git or you can download the source tarball and look in there. The source code is on the project website: https://pwmt.org/projects/zathura/

"It's possible to open the print dialog box when printing? Sometimes I want to print odd pages first, and the even pages later but I can't figure out how to do that in zathura."
I've found a possible solution, compiling zathura from git sources :
- first I installed xpp : http://cups.sourceforge.net/xpp/ ;
- then in config.h, I put that (line 63) : char* print_command = "xpp -d '%s' -P %s %s %s"; /* printer / pages / file */
what makes zathura use xpp instead of lp for printing, and makes it possible to custom printing options.
Hope it will be useful ; excuse my bad English (I'm French),
Jacques.

Hello,
Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but I cannot seem to get the "Search last keyword backwards" function (with N) to work.
When I search for a keyword using "/", and then n for searching the same keyword again, things work fine, but if I then press shift+n (what I assume "N" as opposed to "n" means), I still search forwards for the keyword. Please let me know if I am committing a silly, though

Thank you pnutzh4x0r for the link.
I didn't know that was the source code ...
Anyways there is no "config.h" but rather a "config.def.h",
Should I just move that file to "~/.config/zathura/zathurarc" and try to work from there?

No, but I wrote it down to check on that later.

The config.h file is created based upon the config.def.h file on the first build. Download the source, type "make" and there you go.

I have fixed this in the git version. Thank you.
