i disabled pulseaudio.tried removing it but it keeps pulling too many dependecies.
followed this thread to disable it.

but when my headphone is plugged in, i get the hissing and crackles as soon as the archlinux splash screen appears.
now i get the feeling that its not pulseaudio.
maybe something else,could be the kernel, as some of you have suggested.
downgrading the kernel is one of the options but i think i got to do it, to find out if downgrading would help.
but moving to another distro is not on my list right now.

my sound card doesnt play nice with linux in various occasions.
sometimes it works without any issues in ubuntu,sometimes it doesnt.( i mean from distro release to release).
not even sure which kernel to try , for a downgrade. i really want gnome3 with shell to work.

i randomly picked a reasonably older kernel , but kernel downgrade didnt help either.still hearing crackles....

maybe i should find the patches that was done in ubuntu 11.04 for my sound card.
the crackles and hissing are very minimal,but sometimes annoying.maybe i think i can live with that.

I have actually found a solution to my problem, if someone else reads this I hope they finds this useful.
The solution came at fedoraforums.Its a workaround for pulseaudio.I don't hear anymore crackles in my speakers.
Edit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, uncomment the "flat-volumes" parameter and set it to "no". Then as your ordinary user, run "pulseaudio -k" or find other ways to restart the Pulse Audio daemon.
