My setup uses 13 patches I almost feel like a debian package maintainer.

Well, it's a little embarrassing for me, because I care a little when people get garbage from me.

Why, the title bar is supposed to display the right information yet dwm is giving out garbage.
If Firefox did the same thing for every web page, would you call it "just a web page that's bothering you"?
When people get that kind of garbage while using my computer, they are getting garbage from me.

@lolilolicon: Don't you think that comparison is a bit flawed? Of course if Firefox was displaying junk characters in web pages, that would be a problem. But dwm isn't causing problems with the contents of your windows; it's just displaying junk characters in the title (in the bar). Of course this isn't ideal--I can understand why it would bother some people--but I still don't think it's an important issue, or a usability issue. I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree..
