Not yet, but I'm making one very soon (expect it tomorrow, I do it can't right now but in a few hours…)
It will be named compiz-plugin-earth.

Awesome supports fake transparency. When you define colours, just add a hex number for an alpha channel. E.g., in my theme.lua I have
theme.bg_normal = "#05112190" --#RGBA
theme.bg_focus = "#1793d190"
And so on.
No compositor required, though running a compositor would make it real transparency. Incidentally, the same settings apply to the menu as well. My full theme is in my dotfiles repo in my sig.

Thanks. The font is not Envy Code R. It is called boxxy. It was posted by an arch user in one of the screenshots thread. May be last month or the month before,

Weird… Can you retry now, there was something with files permissions that I fixed (but it didn't prevent it working for me when reinstalling fresh from AUR)
Do you have the files day.png, night.png, skydome.png, earth.vert and earth.frag in ~/.compiz/data ? Are they readable ?
What graphic adapter do you have ?
Remember that the skydome doesn't set itself, you have to set it in cube->appearance->skydome, enable skydome and animate and select the file. (also, this is better if reflections are disabled)
