When trying pacman -Syu again i get a file unavailable error no matter which server I use... Any other suggestions?

You do have an internet connection, right? What does the error message say? Also, try pasting your mirrorlist and pacman.conf.

Also, what version of pacman are you running? "pacman -Q pacman" will tell you.

Definetly have internet connection. I can ping google fine. when i use pacman -syu it says: error: failed retrieveing file 'testing.db.tar.gz' from mirror.rit.edu : File unavailable (e.g., file not found no accesss)
This comes up for every repository.

Still need to know what version of pacman you are running. Also, paste the results of
pacman -v
Edit: Also, is there a chance that a pacman action (upgrade/installation/removal) was interrupted?

I hope that the DB Path you just posted is a typo. It should be "/var/lib/pacman", not "/var/ib/packman".

Have you made any modifications to pacman.conf? Do you recall any messages the last time you successfully updated? If I recall correctly, the jump between 3.3 and 3.5 is going to require a pacman-db-upgrade. Have you done this?
If all else fails, try removing the old databases manually and then doing a "pacman -Sy". They should be found in "/var/lib/pacman/sync/".

No modifications besides adding testing and extra respositories. This system hasnt been updated yet. Its on a fresh install. I get command not found with pacman-db-upgrade. Should i try a newer version of the arch .iso? mine is a couple months old.

A newer version of arch.iso probably would help greatly. The old .iso was sufficiently out of date that it was breaking things. Try what I suggested with removing the .db files from "/var/lib/pacman/sync" and then "pacman -Syy". If that doesn't work, then yes, it might just be easier to start over with the new .iso.

Used rm -r /var/lib/pacman/sync then did pacman -Syy still getting the same error. I am going to try the newer iso when i get home today. Ill let you know if it works.

Well, you still need the sync directory, just not the contents in it.

Tried the new iso and the install worked without a hitch. I'm really surprised I didnt think of that earlier lol. Thanks for all your help.
