Re: Gnome 3.2 not working

No news ?
I still have the same issues. I had more time recently so I've tried to log in with a freshly created user but gnome-shell freezes.

@splatterdash : Did you managed to solve it ?

Re: Gnome 3.2 not working

I have also the same Problems !
Sometimes Xorg goes to 100% Cpu or Gnome-Shell or Adobe Flash Player
I use now the Fallback Modus until the problem is alive.

Re: Gnome 3.2 not working

Hi

I have deinstalled Flashplayer 11 and installed Flashplayer 10 from archlinuxfr Repo.
Because Xorg crashes again also under Gnome 3.2 Fall Back Modus.

Maybe can anyone confirm this ?

Thx

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Gnome 3.2 not working

Hi,
For the video driver : I did $cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep driver
And saw : Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so
So I think this mean udev choosed the xf86-video-intel driver (quite normal, considering that I have an intel chipset.)

Your link brings me to the seventh post of the thread. Am I supposed to do as you say in the seventh post or also what you said earlier in the thread ?
By the way, I've got question about the post itself :
What do you mean by :
4) gdb attach $(/bin/pidof gnome-shell)  → Is it a command to type exactly as it is written ? Does this lead to gdb after ?
5) type in gdb "set logging on" → If I'm in gdb after the last command I understand that I have to type "set logging on", am I right ?
6) type "t a a bt full" → In gdb ? What does it mean ?
Sorry I'm a newbie in gdb, I've always been cheating by using ddd tongue.
Last question about → 1) install this debug packages: http://pkgbuild.com/~ioni/debug/ and fb-client
Am I supposed to download all the packages in the appropriate arch and install them manually or is there any way to use yaourt or pacman ?
Thanks for the help. I might not be able to do the tests in the early moments I have plenty of work those days, sorry about that.

Re: Gnome 3.2 not working

Have you tried deleting ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/application_state file?

It's worked for some people in the past that were getting same error msg.
