This PKGBUILD doesn't seem to be working anymore... (excuse my newbness, I only installed Arch yesterday!)

It builds & installs fine, but when I try to run it, I get this:

I've not really any idea where to start, there appear to be a lot of Gtk errors there, I guess maybe it's related to the Gtk problems mentioned earlier in the thread?

This is an old thread. You should use the package from the unstable repo. Uncomment the unstable repo in your pacman.conf and install with:
pacman -Sy linuxdcpp-cvs

If your linuxdcpp is consuming a lot of memory without using processor in the same time something goes wrong, there is no hashing process, also very annoying thing on low performance machines. So I think that complete deletion of linuxdcpp configuration from /home/user (.dc++, .dc) will give you another chance to set it up good again. I did it.
